Debut Strings files (updated 3/23/2010)
The
files linked from this page are for
Sinsheimer Debut Strings students. NoteEdit and MusicXML files are
in the left column; MIDI files are on the right. There are four or five
MIDI files for each piece: one MIDI with all instruments and one each
for the violins, viola, and cello parts. (The first and second violins
have
the same music for Melancholy Waltz and Regal Fanfare, so each of those
pieces get four MIDIs.) MIDIs for the individual parts actually play
all four parts with all but the selected part at reduced volume, so
students can hear the rest of the orchestra "in the background," so to
speak.
The MIDIs are the usual quality with the usual limitations: rinky-tink
sound, no slur reproduction, no dynamics to speak of. But they are
probably better than nothing. NoteEdit users should use the source
files, as they sound and work much better. NtEd users or other software
users may be able to use the MusicXML files. If you find programs that
can import them I would like to hear about it.
These files will be removed or moved to an archive at the end of the
2009-2010 school year. Only current music is on this page. For older
pieces and more information on NoteEdit, go to my
other music files page.
Please let me know if you have
any problems with these files in any way. Some of them were
created "on the fly" and may not be perfect. I'll try to answer any
questions or fix any problems you have with them. My email address:
